God cares.

It is not really our message, but God’s message.  God cares.

It is reassuring to know that God cares in a broken world.  You don’t need us to tell you that the world is broken.  You see it around you. You have felt it.

Part of what makes the world broken is you and I.  We are broken and we add to the brokenness of the world.  The Bible says that, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

God cares so He set out to fix what was broken.   He sent his Son, Jesus to fix what was broken.    “For God so loved the world, that He gave his one and only son…”

Jesus was God’s only Son and He came down from heaven and was born into the world.  He looked like a normal baby, but he was not.  He grew up and taught amazing teachings like, “Love your enemies.”  “Bless those that curse you.”  “Turn the other cheek.”

He taught, but Jesus had a bigger purpose.   He came to fix what is broken.    “The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.”  He came to die for our sins.  It was the only way to fix what was broken.

He was innocent.  He did nothing wrong.  Yet, he was found guilty and sentenced to death.  A cruel painful death.  They nailed him to a cross by putting spikes through his hands and feet.

Jesus died on that cross.  They buried him in a tomb after he died.  And for three days, he was dead, but than the most amazing thing happened.  He rose from the dead!

“Whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life…”  God cares enough that He sent His Son to restore your relationship with God the Father.  To fix what is broken.

God has done His part and He reaches out to you to ask you if you want to follow Him.  It means you will live differently.  You will be different.  He can change you and make you a new person.

How do I change?

You recognize that you are broken.  You trust that Jesus’ sacrifice is enough and you ask Him to forgive you of your sins.   You can begin a relationship with Christ and receive forgiveness by praying a prayer like this:

“Dear God.  I’m sorry for my sins.  I want to turn from my sins.  I believe that Jesus Christ is your Son and died for me.  He rose from the dead and He is alive today.  I invite Him into my heart.  I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen”
