Student Ministry

Mission Statement: Promise Student Ministries exists to see students get LIT on fire for Jesus Christ. LIT is an acronym for: Loving God, Investigating truth and Telling everyone about Jesus’ sacrifice.

Vision Statement: Promise Student Ministries accomplishes LIT by being rooted in the Word of God (Bible), looking into the truths the Bible teaches and being involved in the community of Waconia.

Events

Student Ministry Weekly Meeting

Student Ministry meets Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at the church.  Wednesday night meetings are for students in grades 5-12.  The church is at 141 Depot Drive in Waconia.  Come out for an exciting time of fun, fellowship, and spiritual challenge. 

 

30 Hour Famine

Student ministry raises awareness about homelessness and money for the Marie Sandvik Center on September 4 and 5. 

Students meet at the church at 11 a.m. on September 4 and finish with a home cooked potluck dinner at 6 p.m. on September 5.  Students will panhandle in Waconia, sleep in boxes in the parking lot at Promise, and fast the 30 hours to experience homelessness during the weekend. 

Students are seeking sponsors for each hour of fasting to raise money for the Marie Sandvik Center.  The Marie Sandvik Center is in south Minneapolis and provides for the spiritual and physical needs of the inner city poor.
